Axiobib

"Our acres per hour have gone way up with the Axiobib tires. We can now cover 15 acres per hour when previously we were around 12 to 13 acres. We’ve also seen much better fuel economy."

"We put the new Axiobib tires on our John Deere 9620 four-wheel-drive tractor late this summer. We previously had a competitive brand of tires (Goodyear) on that tractor, and they were just a disaster. The power hop was awful. It was like riding on a steel-wheeled wagon. You couldn’t run over 5 mph. Durability was also an issue with those tires. We had only 150 hours on them and they had more stubble wear than a set of 710 R42 Michelin tires that had 2,000 hours of service on one of our other tractors.

This fall we’ve used the 9620 with the Axiobib tires to pull a John Deere 512 disk ripper. The ripper is 22 ½ feet wide and has nine shanks with 10-inch sweeps. We’re pulling it in heavy, tight, black gumbo soils, so the tractor is operating under a heavy load. The total weight of the tractor is 55,000 pounds. Before we started using the Axiobib tires, we had to run the competitive tires at 20 psi. We kept increasing the inflation pressure by two-pound increments until we came to a point where the power hop stopped. With those high inflation pressures, we were experiencing wheel slip in excess of 20 percent when pulling the disk ripper. With the Axiobib tires we run at pressures of 8 psi front, 6 psi rear, and wheel slip is in the 6 to 8 percent range. Our acres per hour have gone way up with the Axiobib tires. We can now cover 15 acres per hour when previously we were around 12 to 13 acres. We’ve also seen much better fuel economy.

Compaction is a very real issue for us. This heavy, tight soil really compacts, especially when it gets just a little bit wet. I won’t stand for running at anything higher than the 6 to 8 psi we’re getting with the Axiobib tires.

The ride we get with the Axiobib tires is comparable to riding in a half-ton pickup, which to me is really smooth."
